POLICE have warned of the rising number of tool boxes being stolen from the back of tradies’ utes in Greater Dandenong.
Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton of Greater Dandenong CIU said the thefts had mainly targeted vehicles parked in the street overnight.
“Many of the utilities have had canopies unlocked or defective in some way,” Detective Kirton said.
He suggested tradies keep a record of serial numbers of valuable tools to help police track them down if they are stolen.
Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
