A DANDENONG South man, aged 64, suffered life-threatening injuries during an argument outside his home.
Police have arrested and charged two men aged in their late 20s over the alleged assault, which occurred about 8pm on 29 September.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Kane Taylor said the attackers and victim knew each other.
He said the victim was knocked unconscious and received “fairly substantial injuries” that required surgery.
“There’s an indication there was a weapon used,” he said.
Sen Taylor said the injuries were life-threatening initially but his condition had improved and he was recovering in hospital.
