Journal’s story hits the big screen

THE Dandenong Journal’s 150th anniversary celebrations continue this week with the screening of a video commissioned to mark the historic occasion.
The video, which will be shown on the big screen in Harmony Square, features Greater Dandenong personalities talking about their connection with the Journal.
Familiar faces include Frosty Miller talking about his years playing for the Redlegs, former mayor Ian McDonald, Journal columnist Jack Johnson, business identities Tom and Margo Hartley and Daryl Rayner, and young leader of the year Rohullah Rahimi.
Reporter Cameron Lucadou-Wells and editor Narelle Coulter also appear in the video.
“The film is a tie in with the special commemorative edition of the Journal published in August,” Ms Coulter said.
“This has been a very special year for the Journal and we hope people wandering through central Dandenong will take a few moments to stop and watch the video screening in Harmony Square. The memories and reflections in the video really sum up what the Journal has meant to Dandenong over the past 150 years and how it is evolving in the digital age.”
