NOBLE Park footballers will swap the Sherrins for golf clubs to support their mate during his cancer battle.
Funds raised at Club Noble’s annual charity golf day at Keysborough Golf Club on Thursday 7 April will go to Chris ‘Rabbit’ Heenan and his young family.
His former team-mates and Club Noble last year rallied to raise $30,000 for the Heenans, following Chris’s diagnosis with stage four prostate cancer.
“Rabbit was a very popular player at the club and has two young daughters to care for,” golf day convenor Grant Connolly said.
“It is only fitting that we support him and his young family in his time of need.
“Rabbit’s condition has really hit home and highlights the importance for men of all ages to have regular checks and not ignore early warning signs.”
Mr Connolly said the golf day was open to anyone who wanted to take a stand on men’s health, and was a great way to mix sport with support.
Call Club Noble on 9546 0653 or register at the club in Moodemere Street, Noble Park, to get involved.
