Child safe after pursuit

AN ALLEGED child-snatching in Dandenong North on Friday morning triggered a police pursuit through several suburbs.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said it was reported that a two-year-old girl was taken from her mother while they were on Carlton Road about 8.50am.
The 22-year-old man who allegedly took the child is believed to be their father, and left the area in a white Holden stationwagon.
Police spotted the car in Murrumbeena and initiated a pursuit.
The station wagon had a minor collision and got stuck in traffic on Malvern Road, Malvern East, about 11.30am.
Police were able to arrest the man and the child was recovered safe and well.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives interviewed the man.
