Hoons remain a key target for Greater Dandenong police.
Inspector Mark Langhorn said Operation Sumatra kicked off in January and would continue for another month or so.
He said Friday and Saturday night hoon gatherings were its target.
“We’ve got increased resources in highway patrol in and around Springvale and Dandenong ready to move,” he said.
Police know the Springvale junction, Greens Road in Dandenong South and industrial estates are hoon hot spots.
“But we’ll shift our resources to disrupt any activity,” Insp Langhorn said.
“We’ll come down hard on anyone who’s driving irresponsibly.”
