Visitors launch get-fit program

Keysborough students are taking up the Premier’s Active April challenge.
The initiative encourages people to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity each day during April to improve their health and wellbeing.
Lighthouse Christian College launched the program at the school on Wednesday 15 March with a visit from several high-profile sports people.
Their own Year 12 student Brandon Lauton was among them. He plays for the Melbourne Victory Football Club under-20s squad.
The other guests were Essendon Football Club player Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Olympians Rachel Jarry, Joshua Dunkley-Smith and Rhydian Cowley.
Students from Prep to Year 12, their families and staff took inspiration and encouragement from the athletes who spoke about the pursuit of their goals.
Premier’s Active April registration is free.
Greater Dandenong residents who sign up receive 10 free passes to use at Noble Park Aquatic Centre, Springers Leisure Centre or Dandenong Oasis.
Participants can log their progress online or by using a new app, and will have access to activity programs, healthy recipes and motivational tips.
Everyone who registers will also receive 15 per cent off at Sportsmart in store and online, one hour of free tennis court hire at Melbourne Park or Albert Reserve, one free Get into Cardio Tennis session, 20 per cent off any annual membership with Cycling Victoria, a two for one ticket offer to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium and more.
