A “shocking” Keysborough planning application is the worst Councillor Matthew Kirwan has seen reach a council meeting.
He told the Monday 26 February council meeting he was pleased that council officers recommended rejecting the plans for 144 Stanley Road, Keysborough.
Councillors unanimously agreed with the recommendation.
The application proposed amending an existing permit to subdivide the land, build eight three-storey and two double-storey homes, remove the easement and reduce visitor car parking.
“It fails our planning scheme in terms of height, setbacks, car parking, landscaping, bulk, site design, site services, storage, neighbourhood character, access, internal views and private open space,” Cr Kirwan said.
The report said: “The proposed mass, bulk, lack of landscaping and presentation of the development is deemed out of character within the neighbourhood context and wider Somerfield Estate.”
