Police are appealing for public vigilance following a “disturbing” arson spree.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Sergeant Craig West said firebugs struck in Kyla Avenue, Dandenong, overnight on Saturday 31 March, into the early hours of Sunday.
He said there’d been “a couple” of fires in the same location on another occasion.
Sgt West said the street ran along the EastLink Trail and the arsonists set grass alight. There was no evidence of an accelerant.
He described the series of fires as quite disturbing.
“We’re really wanting people to keep an eye out in that area,” he said.
Sgt West said a couple of cars were seen in the area around the time of the fires.
Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information.
Look out for firebugs
