Battles will bring people together at a hip hop Youth Week event.
Breakdancing crew Kings Only is partnering with Greater Dandenong Council to bring Floor Wars to Dandenong Market from 10am to 3pm on Sunday 15 April.
Dancer Chino said young people aged 12 to 25 could participate in the two versus two all-style battle.
“It basically welcomes any dancer that branches from hip hop,” he said.
“It’s not a one-category type battle.
“It’s just hip hop dancing coming together.”
Chino would love the event to become an annual feature.
“I hope to see a lot of different faces, a lot of different cultures and ages,” he said.
“I think everyone can dance. I hope it inspires people.
“I know it’s a powerful tool.”
Victorian Youth Week will run from Friday 13 to Sunday 22 April.
In other celebrations, Greater Dandenong will host the 2K18 April Soccer Tournament with Entrepreneurship Movement Club (EMC) at JC Mills Reserve in Dandenong from 9am to 5pm on Friday 13 April.
It will also hold a Young Women’s Gala Day from 9am to 3.30pm on Friday 20 April at Springers Leisure Centre, Keysborough.
The event will target 200 Year 9 students to promote physical fitness and mental health and build links to sporting clubs.
