A motorcyclist was travelling at 248 km/h in a 100 zone in Dandenong South, police allege.
The incident about 2.19am on Wednesday 11 April was among a shocking string of offences the Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol night shift encountered in only a handful of days.
Police said they spotted the bike on South Gippsland Highway, clocked the extreme speed reading, and lost sight of the vehicle.
They patrolled the area and a short time later found a collision involving the same motorcycle.
The 42-year-old Cranbourne West man was not injured but will receive a summons in relation to riding at a dangerous speed.
About 12.35am on Monday 9 April, officers intercepted a 2007 Holden Omega on the Dandenong Bypass in Keysborough after allegedly detecting it traveling at 98 km/h in an 80 zone.
The 26-year-old Lynbrook man behind the wheel returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.026.
The probationary driver should have had no alcohol in his system.
He received $872 in infringement notices and 16 demerit points for his offences, which also included failing to display P-plates.
At 2.12am the same day, the Highway Patrol helped Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit to intercept a 23-year-old Hampton Park man.
They allegedly spotted the suspended driver travelling at a fast rate of speed on South Gippsland Highway in Dandenong South.
Police said he had prior driving while suspended offences and they impounded his vehicle for 30 days.
About 3.57am on Saturday 14 April, officers intercepted a 2005 Mitsubishi Magna on South Gippsland Highway in Dandenong.
Police allege the learned driver behind the wheel, an 18-year-old Bayswater North man, was unaccompanied and travelling at 102 km/h in an 80 zone.
They issued $1269 in infringement notices and three demerit points.
