Growing membership and an expanding executive – it adds up to a beautiful set of numbers for Greater Dandenong Chamber of Commerce.
It held a rapid-fire 10-minute AGM – amid plenty of convivial networking – at NAB Business Banking Centre in Dandenong South on 15 August.
The 70-year-old chamber was rejuvenated by a new logo and branding. A membership drive helped swell the ranks by 40 per cent, the meeting was told.
In turn, there were more events, 50 per cent more attendance, and now an executive that’s expanded from nine to 12 members.
Olivia de Sousa-Ferres, Ian Grant and Richard Payne were welcomed onto the executive at the AGM.
The chamber plans to continue its successful Women in Business events, including a charity lunch and an International Women’s Day breakfast.
In the coming year, there’s also a focus on emboldening the chamber’s awards program, recruiting and providing better value for members, president Paul Broom told the meeting.
Meanwhile, invitations are out for one of the chamber’s gala events – its AFL Grand Final charity lunch, with a much-anticipated special guest Matthew Richardson.
