Cocaine accused faces court

An accused cocaine trafficker has faced court after police allegedly intercepted him in a car with drugs and weapons on Princes Highway Dandenong.

Prparim Rustemovski, 33, of Dandenong, did not apply for bail during a brief hearing at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 17 September.

He had been on bail when police allegedly intercepted and arrested him earlier that day.

Police say they seized 61 grams of cocaine, $600 cash, an unloaded pen pistol with a matching bullet, the drug diazepam without a prescription and an extendable baton from the vehicle.

Rustemovski was charged with offences including trafficking and possessing cocaine, possessing an unregistered handgun and ammunition and possessing a controlled weapon.

He was also charged with dealing with proceeds of crime, allegedly the cash, digital scales and an Apple iPhone.

Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit police also charged Rustemovski with commiting indictable offences whilst on bail.

The court was told that Rustemovski had no prior convictions.

He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 14 October.
