Cop injured during arrest

A police officer was injured after rousing an unconscious male slumped in a vehicle in Abbotts Road Dandenong South.

The 27-year-old Cranbourne man was holding a knife when approached by police about 1.10pm on 11 October.

As officers tried to remove the knife, he allegedly began to violently resist.

Police member received minor injuries in the struggle.

The man was arrested under the Mental Health Act and conveyed to hospital for assessment.
