Neighbourly food for thought in Springvale

Peter Dekker, an Urban Neighbours of Hope refugee community worker, and cafe worker Khare Mar, get together before a ‘Know Your Neighbour’ night at Free Burma Cafe in Springvale this Thursday. The cafe, set up by the UNOH and Burmese community members, is a community hub and employer of Burmese refugees. Mr Dekker said the night aimed to bring people from different communities together over food. Free Burma Cafe is at 178 Springvale Road. Details: 8555 9396. Picture: Sam Stiglec.
