Thieves grab package deal at cemetery

AN excavator, a tray truck and trailer were stolen from Springvale Botanical Cemetery last week.

Detective Alistair Boyd, of the Greater Dandenong crime investigation unit, said there was no sign of forced entry during the theft, which took place between 6pm last Thursday and 6am the following morning.

The three vehicles were stored in a maintenance compound in the cemetery.

The excavator, which was loaded on the trailer, was a 2009 yellow Yanmar model with number plates WSV 983.

The tray truck was a 2006 white Mitsubishi with number plates UAU 342. It was connected to a trailer with plates U2112.
