Home trashed in brazen Dandenong invasion

Three people, including a one-year-old boy, locked themselves in a room as their house and two cars were trashed in a terrifying home invasion in Gladstone Road, Dandenong, last Sunday week.

Detective Acting Sergeant Nick Lamb of Greater Dandenong crime investigation unit said the assailants — two females and a male — arrived at the house about 10.30-11pm and demanded one of the residents to “come outside”.

Detective Lamb said members of the group jumped on and smashed windows and rear-view mirrors of two vehicles parked outside the house. ‘‘They just went crazy on [the cars]. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were written off.’’

The offenders then went into the house, smashing windows and damaging furniture.‘‘They were only there for a very short time,’’
Acting Sergeant  Lamb said.

‘‘Apparently soon after there was some talk on Facebook among youths in the area about the incident. The victims are definitely in shock with what happened and are in fear of what further incidents could occur.’’
