Man attacked in Doveton road rage

A man was punched to near-unconsciousness in a road-rage incident in Doveton.

The man’s car was damaged by another driver, who got out of a recent-model silver people-mover and threw an object at the victim’s car on the Princes Highway overpass, above the South Gippsland Freeway, about 4pm on August 18.

Police say the driver then met the man in the middle of the intersection and punched him in the face. The victim fell to the ground, and was punched several more times.

Police are seeking a man of islander appearance, aged about 30, 174 centimetres, of solid build and short black hair. He was possibly wearing a white shirt and was accompanied by a female, also aged about 30 and of islander appearance. She is about 167 centimetres, of medium build, with long black hair, and wore a grey-coloured jacket. The people-mover had registration plates possibly starting with the letter ‘W’ and containing the numbers 611.
