Queensland driver charged with animal cruelty

A man has been charged with firearm, drug and animal cruelty offences after being pulled over during a traffic operation in Springvale last Tuesday. 

The 36-year-old Queensland man was intercepted in an allegedly stolen car about 11.30am during an automated number plate recognition camera operation on Heatherton Road.

Jewellery recovered

Police have recovered jewellery from a second-hand store in Springvale. A 18-carat gold chain Buddha pendant, an 18-carat gold and white gold pendant with a red stone, nine-carat gold hoop earrings and an 18-carat gold chain and crucifix pendant were recovered. Information to Greater Dandenong CIU

L-Plate driver speeding

An 18-year-old Keysborough learner driver was caught driving at 162 km/h in an 80 zone in Dandenong South on Saturday night. The teen, who driving his friend’s father’s car with three passengers, was caught heading west on the Dandenong Bypass about 11.30pm. The car was impounded for 30 days and the teen is expected to be charged on summons with driving offences.
