EFL: Noble Park Bulls stampede Lilydale

By ROY WARD

NOBLE Park regained its captain and its confidence with a 54-point win over Lilydale at Lilydale Sports Oval on Saturday.

The Bulls charged for home in the second half, playing some of their most composed and ruthless football of the Eastern Football League division 1 season to kick 11 goals to six for the half.

Noble Park won 19.17 (131) to 11.11 (77) with captain and 2011 league medallist Craig Anderson back in the side and finding plenty of the football.

Bulls coach Mick Fogarty said his side showed a much stronger grasp of their game plan in the second half following some disappointing efforts earlier in the season.

“Our second half was much better than our first half, we are starting to play some good football,” Fogarty said.

“Our ball movement and our run from defence was pretty good, we have just got a few structural things to improve on.

“We think we are starting to find the right balance of players to take us forward and where we want to go this season.” Bulls midfielder Stewart Kemperman was again named best player along with former Seaford star Lucas Smith, Anderson, Tim Kelly, Jarrod Plymin and Trent Robertson.

Luke Mann kicked five goals while Brett Dore added four goals and Shayne Allan three.

“Smith played his best game since coming across to us,” Fogarty said.

“Craig Anderson accumulated a lot of possessions and looks back to his usual self.
