SPRINGVALE Rise School parents and friends have signed a petition calling for a basketball court and safety repairs.
School council president and City of Greater Dandenong councillor Sean O’Reilly delivered the petition to the office of local MP Tim Holding for tabling in State Parliament.
It calls for the State Government to urgently fix safety hazards as listed on the state department register and re-establish a basketball court at the Springvale Heights campus.
“The kids still can’t play basketball at the school and there are no plans for this to be remedied,” Cr O’Reilly said.
“Six months ago the Minister for Education said in parliament that he would give us a comprehensive response, but we have not heard anything.
“Meanwhile, the kids have to use a rubbish bin at the school for a basketball hoop.”
