A MAN has suffered a fractured eye socket in a violent Dandenong robbery.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Tony Lavars said the 39-year-old victim was walking along Lonsdale Street about 2.45am on 21 August when four men of African appearance approached him from behind.
He turned around when one of the attackers called out and received a punch to the face that knocked him to the ground.
Det Sen Const Lavars said the men punched and kicked the victim, searched his pockets and removed his wallet and jewellery.
He said police arrested the men in Scott Street a short time later, trying to leave the area in a taxi.
The victim received a fractured eye socket, grazes and lacerations to his face and arms.
An 18-year-old Mulgrave man, a 22-year-old Frankston man and two men from Cairnlea, aged 27 and 22, will answer charges of robbery, affray and recklessly causing serious injury.
