THE City of Greater Dandenong recognised the work of its emergency service crews at a civic function last week in Springvale.
Assistant Police Commissioner Noel Ashby and mayor Maria Sampey addressed 70 representatives from the police, ambulance, fire brigade and SES forces.
Cr Sampey said it was important to officially recognise and applaud the work of emergency organisations that provided life saving services to the community.
“As residents, we can feel reassured that our emergency teams of police, ambulance, fire brigade and SES volunteers are constantly protecting and serving the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” Cr Sampey said.
“As one of Victoria’s fastest growing regions, the City of Greater Dandenong has more than 134,000 residents and 150 different countries represented in its population, and our emergency services are vital in contributing to a strong, vibrant and harmonious community network.”
