Strong arms Rangers with win

THE Dandenong Rangers championship men’s team enjoyed its second consecutive win on Sunday, beating Werribee 104-88 at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium.
Despite trailing by seven points at the end of the first period, the Rangers fought their way back into the match and broke the shackles in the third period, outscoring Werribee 32-20.
Lester Strong dominated the floor yet again, scoring 36 points and collecting 19 rebounds during his 39 minutes of play.
Strong has scored more than 200 points in the first six games of the season, with a stunning average of 34 points.
Brent Hobba was also brilliant for the Rangers, scoring 34 points and amassing 16 rebounds.
The win has evened up Dandenong’s season with three wins and three losses.
On Saturday night the Rangers take on Ringwood at the Maroondah Indoor Sports Centre and would no doubt be confident of leaving with a win.
The match tips off at 8.15pm.
The Dandenong championship women’s team finished last weekend with two wins from two games.
The Rangers beat Melbourne 75-67 on Saturday night, and escaped from Geelong with a thrilling 68-62 victory on Sunday afternoon.
