Chase gives Noble Park a win

NOBLE Park Cricket Club’s first XI won its fourth Victorian Sub District Cricket Association game for the season after chasing down Brunswick’s total of 278.

A-57 run stand between Darren Seccull and Steve Croft saw the total to 87 before Seccull was dismissed for 54.
Captain Gavin Hurley joined Croft and they took the total to 3/162 off 40 overs at the break.
The pair added a further 17 runs before Hurley was bowled for 30.
Paul Hill and Croft then shared in a 54-run stand before Croft, on the verge of making a century, was dismissed for 97.
With 48 runs required off 15 overs, Hill and Jon Stones ticked off the remaining runs without loss, Hill finishing with an unbeaten 53 runs and Stones with 24.
The second XI was unable to defend its total of 216 with Brunswick reaching 7/217.
Andrew Borovac (2/12) and Andrew O’Meara (2/37) were the best of the Noble Park bowlers.
The club’s third XI kept its unbeaten record intact, reaching 7/205 in reply to Kingston Saints’ 192.
