Man stabbed in home

POLICE are investigating an incident in Springvale last week in which a man was repeatedly stabbed in a suburban home.
Ambulance and police from Springvale South were called to a house in Royal Avenue just after 4am on Thursday, 25 August after reports a man had been seriously assaulted.
The 54yearold man received stab wounds to his upper body and was rushed to a Melbourne hospital.
He was then taken to a local hospital where he was later said to be in a stable condition.
Police said crime scene officers were examining the scene and police were continuing to investigate.
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne Stokes from Springvale CIU said police were following several avenues and were confident of an early arrest.
