Magic of the musical

POSSUM Magic will be in the air at the Drum Theatre next Thursday.
The musical’s final farewell tour will include two shows in Dandenong, at 10am and 11.45am on 30 May.
Based on the book written by Mem Fox and illustrated by Julie Vivas, Possum Magic – The Musical brings to life on stage the story many know by heart.
It was first published in 1983 and the musical stage adaption premiered in 1990.
There have been three extensive national tours of Possum Magic – The Musical and countless shorter seasons across the nation.
City of Greater Dandenong’s Drum Theatre director Greg Hordacre said the show promised to keep audiences enthralled with its catchy musical numbers and fantastic puppets.
“The show features larger than life-sized puppets and a cast of multi-talented performers which have been stylishly combined into a rollicking Aussie musical – complete with lamingtons, pavlovas and vegemite sandwiches,” he said.
Drum Theatre’s on the corner of Lonsdale and Walker streets, Dandenong.
Tickets for the 60-minute show start at $13.50 and are available from www.drumtheatre.com.au or 9771 6666.
