Artist Kundah, pictured, paints great holes in the middle of his paintings. A bit like what he calls the “50-year hole” in his life — referring to the fact he didn’t know who his true parents were, that he was Aboriginal and part of the ‘stolen generation’ until he was 50. Around those painted black holes gleam rainbows of colours, swarms of dots and animals including his black snake totem — or with his favourite painting, as pictured, an old man tugged into the abyss by flying kangaroos. The exhibition is at Heritage Hill gallery, 66 McCrae Street, Dandenong until Sunday. Details: heritagehill.com.au or 9793 4511. Picture: Wayne Hawkins
