Cash on the line

THE State Government will pump $37 million into the first stage of the Dandenong rail line triplication.
The State Budget 2007 announcement headlined other announcements for the region including $1.1 million for Aboriginal support services, including Dandenong’s Aboriginal Cooperative, and a $93 million package to be split among the state’s merged ‘super schools’. This includes the local merger of Dandenong High School, Cleeland Secondary School and Doveton Secondary School.
Greater Dandenong will also share part of $20 million for ‘drug hot spot initiatives’.
It will also be a part of a network of seven family violence community lawyers that will offer increased assistance for family violence cases before the court.
The triplication of the Dandenong line between Springvale and Caulfield will receive $37 million as part of an $872 million package this coming financial year for public transport improvements across the state.
