Cannabis, equipment seized in raids

Cannabis valued at more than $1.3 million was seized by police from houses in Noble Park, Springvale and Springvale South.

Greater Dandenong tasking unit police seized 327 plants — with a wholesale value of more than $1 million — growing hydroponically in eight rooms in a Noble Park house on September 18. The Buckley Street premises had no occupants. Police seized $30,000 worth of cultivation equipment.

The following day, the tasking unit seized 182 hydroponic cannabis plants from a house in Springfield Avenue, Springvale South. The plants had a wholesale value of about $300,000. About $15,000 worth of equipment was also seized.

A man was charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis, trafficking, possession and theft of electricity after this raid. That night, officers also seized a small amount of cannabis from a house in Westall Road, Springvale.
