SPRINGVALE Police officers knew they smelt something funny – but it wasn’t crime.
An army of emergency and gas company services flocked to Springvale’s new police building on Tuesday, 8 May at 7.20pm to repair a gas leak located outside the building.
Dandenong Fire Station provided specialist gas detection equipment to find the leak’s source – a pit near the front of the police station.
The pit was isolated as gas company crews arrived to fix the leak – a process that fire crews said took several hours.
