WATER saving initiatives keep flooding in to Greater Dandenong, including two major announcements last week.
The City of Greater Dandenong and Dandenong’s Nissan factory have joined forces to ensure half a million litres of water from Nissan’s fire service storage tanks will go to recently-created wetlands at Wachter Reserve, Keysborough.
Nissan’s tanks are in need of repair, and instead of disposing of the water down a drain, the environmentally conscious company contacted the council to donate and transport the water to Wachter Reserve.
In a separate announcement on Friday 25 May Dandenong MP John Pandazopoulos announced that the City of Greater Dandenong had received $50,000 of State Government money to install recycled water holding tanks at the Greaves, Alex Nelson, Noble Park, Shelpley Oval, Turner and Wachter reserves.
