Police confiscate car

AN 18-YEAR-OLD Dandenong North man has had his car impounded after he was caught travelling at 200kmh in an 80kmh zone on Wellington Road, Clayton, on Sunday.
About 12.45am, police from the Monash Traffic Management Unit (TMU) detected the vehicle speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Police said the vehicle, a 1993 Nissan Skyline GTR, was impounded on the spot for 48 hours.
The driver is the registered owner of the vehicle and was travelling with his girlfriend.
Police arrested the 18-year-old and said he would be charged by summons in relation to conduct endangering life, dangerous speeding and related driving charges.
Monash Traffic Management Unit was conducting a special operation targeting hoons over the weekend, and police said the unit impounded two vehicles on Friday night.
