YOUNG people wanting to improve their leadership skills can do so at a series of workshops to be held at The Castle in Dandenong next month.
The council will hold three half-day workshops as part of the Youth Leadership Forum to allow young people the chance to begin shaping their future.
A celebration with bands, dancing and food will be held on the third day, when workshop participants will present their visions to some of the city’s decision-makers.
City mayor Youhorn Chea said in a written statement that the forum provided a wonderful opportunity for Greater Dandenong’s youth to have their voices heard.
“The council is committed to continually improving the services and programs we provide to the community,” Cr Chea said.
“Listening to the ideas of young people at an event like the youth forum is a great way to help us achieve this goal.
“I hope to see a huge turn-out of young people at The Castle during the three days of the forum.”
Workshops are free to Greater Dandenong residents.
JB HiFi gift vouchers will be given to young people who attend all three days, and lunches will be provided.
The forum will be held between 26 and 28 September at The Castle, Hemmings Park, Princes Highway in Dandenong. For more information or to register phone Kanthi Kumine on 9239 5199.
