ROUND six of the Dandenong District Cricket Association’s Turf One competition will be played as a one-day affair this weekend, with all matches in the top division washed out by Saturday’s downpour.
While play began in two senior synthetic and nine junior matches on Saturday, none of the Turf One venues were suitable for play.
When round six commences on Saturday, fourth-placed North Dandenong will host a blockbuster clash with unbeaten reigning premier Springvale South at Lois Twohig Reserve.
Meanwhile, cross-town rivals St Mary’s and Doveton will face off at Carroll Reserve, Coomoora will travel to Parkfield, Buckley Ridges will be gunning for a top-four berth against cellar dweller Dandenong West, Keysborough will host a red-hot Berwick and Cranbourne will meet Narre Warren.
In the lower grades, play will resume in two turf matches that started without interruption on Sunday, but all other junior and senior games will be played under one-day conditions.
