TWO home occupants and a driver escaped injury after a cement truck crashed into a Springvale home’s bathroom this morning.
Police said the 65-year-old driver from Lysterfield lost control of his truck as he drove west on Heatherton Road just before 9am.
A police spokeswoman said the truck crashed through a fence before wedging itself in the house at the Westall Road intersection, causing “moderate” damage.
She said the driver was “assisting police in their inquiries”.
Greater Dandenong SES operations deputy controller Shane Bolton said attempts to make the site safe were stalled after asbestos was discovered in the home’s exterior cladding and interior lining.
Controller Paul Daniel said it would take at least “a large part of the day” to extract the truck.
