Police on prowl for jewellery thief

POLICE are on the prowl for a jewellery thief who stole $12,000 worth of gold chains and bracelets from shopping centres in Keysborough and Narre Warren.
Police said shortly before midday on 7 August a man entered a jewellery store at Parkmore Shopping Centre in Keysborough and asked to look at a gold chain.
After a staff member handed it over, he ran off with it. The chain is valued at over $3000.
Police believe the same man also stole a gold chain and bracelet from another jeweller at a Narre Warren shopping centre the previous day, this time valued at over $9000.
Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the thefts.
He is described as being Caucasian with olive skin, aged between 25 and 35 years, with short dark hair and facial hair around his chin, wearing a cream woollen jumper, black pants and black leather shoes.
Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
