Noble Park lost a golden opportunity to record its first win of the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association season, with the rain ending proceedings before the side could begin to chase Elsternwick’s 9/211.
Instead, Noble Park will launch an assault on fourth-placed Oakleigh in a one-dayer at Noble Park Reserve this Saturday, from 12.30pm. The match will be the last before the holiday break, with games to resume on 10 January.
The Dandenong District Cricket Association will have a round of one-dayers this weekend after the first day of the planned two-day games was washed out.
Highlight of the round will undoubtedly be top side Springvale South taking on reigning premier and fourth-placed Berwick at Alex Nelson Reserve. Berwick had a sluggish start to the season, but has found form in recent weeks and is coming off an outright victory over Coomoora.
