IT WAS back to the blackboards for teachers and students this week, and the first day of school was welcomed with a mixture of tears, excitement, and hard work for a number of students.
Some attended their first day at a new school, others their first day of school altogether.
ISIK College welcomed the new school year with colour and music in form of a fete.
Principal Erdal Kocak said the school looked forward to an exciting year, graduating their first VCE students at the end of the year.
“Our Year 12s have settled in and our VCE students have already started working very hard to achieve great results at the end of the year,” he said.
The nervous first day of school was not only for students at St John’s Regional College in Dandenong, with new principal Andrew Walsh ushering in the new year at the school.
“It is a great privilege for me to be appointed as principal of St John’s Regional College and I look forward to meeting members of the community throughout the year,” he said.
“It is always an exciting time as the year gets underway, students catch up with their friends and teachers and discover many of the challenges and opportunities the new year holds.”
