GREATER DANDENONG families are encouraged to beat the back-to-school blues by joining the Brotherhood of St Laurence ‘Saver Plus’ program.
The dollar-for-dollar initiative, which offers families up to $1000 towards children’s education, will help families plan ahead for the 2010 school year. Gerard Brody from the Brotherhood of St Laurence said ‘Saver Plus’ prepared families by encouraging them to save small amounts of money throughout the year using simple techniques such as budgets and spending diaries.
To apply, families need to be earning some income from paid employment, have a health care or pension card and have children in school or be attending vocational training themselves. Families interested in applying to join ‘Saver Plus’ please contact Sandra Scott on 8781 5937.
