WALKER Street Gallery in Dandenong will showcase the works of 40 female artists as part of their annual national contemporary arts competition, She – Who Discovers.
The exhibition originated 11 years ago to celebrate International Women’s Day and this year Walker Street Gallery will host a stunning show of the finalists’ work until 26 March.
The competition called on female artists to send in contemporary works in all mediums.
The exhibition will showcase a wide range of styles and techniques including sculpture, painting, textiles and ceramics.
Noble Park artist, Lisa Roberts, was chosen as a finalist for this year’s competition.
Winners of the competition will be announced at the official opening tonight, 5 March at 6.30pm.
Winners will receive exhibitions at the sponsoring galleries, Frankston Art Gallery and Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre.
All works are for sale during the exhibition, and may be viewed during gallery opening hours Monday to Friday between 11am and 5pm and Saturday between 11am and 3pm.
