BUS travellers using the new Route 901 SmartBus service will enjoy faster travel times after bus priority road works completion.
The $2.5 million works have constructed a dedicated bus lane for the SmartBus route, which runs along Stud and Dandenong-Frankston roads.
The service will also benefit all other bus services using the same path. “The Route 901 SmartBus now carries around 7600 travellers each weekday, providing travellers with direct and frequent connections to Ringwood, Dandenong and Frankston train stations, as well as Knox City and Stud Park shopping centres,” Minister for Public Transport Lynne Kosky said.
The service runs every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 30 minutes on weekends and public holidays. Since it started, bus use along Stud Road had grown by 40 per cent. For details, contact Metlink on 131 638 or visit www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au
