DANDENONG’S Advanced Polymer Technology Australasia is now an inductee of the Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
Described as a world leader in the design and manufacturing of synthetic sports surfaces, the business has successfully built its brands including Poligras, Supergrasse, Spurtan and Rekortan in local and international markets.
Operating from a purpose-built factory in Dandenong, Advanced Polymer Technology’s world-class products were utilised at the Beijing Olympics hockey pitches in 2008, Melbourne Commonwealth Games hockey pitches in 2006 and at the 2001 Brisbane Goodwill Games’ running track among many others.
In 2008, after assessing projected sales growth, a substantial investment was made in new plant machinery to increase the company’s capacity and broaden manufacturing abilities.
To further enhance its exporting business, Advanced Polymer Technology Australasia supports and mentors a large national and international agent base to provide technical and installation advice, financial assistance and networking opportunities across the world.
Total company sales have increased 52 per cent in the past two years, while export sales now account for about 28 per cent of sales.
It was this strong performance that led to the company receiving the Governor of Victoria Exporter of the Year Award last year.
