Nominations are now open for the Greater Dandenong Australia Day Awards.
The awards recognise hard work and dedication from people who make a positive difference to the Greater Dandenong community.
Greater Dandenong Mayor Jim Memeti said that behind any great community was an army of volunteers doing their bit to make a positive difference.
“Often these people fly under the radar and receive little recognition,” he said.
“This is our way of saying thankyou and celebrating the contribution they make.”
There are seven award categories: Citizen of the Year; Young Leader of the Year for under-25s; Volunteer of the Year; Leadership Award; Multicultural Award; Sportsperson of the Year; and Corporate Citizen of the Year.
A community panel will decide the winners, who’ll receive their awards during the Greater Dandenong Australia Day celebrations in Dandenong Park on 26 January next year.
Nomination forms and more details are available at www.greaterdandenong.com. Nominations close on 20 October.
Bring out their best
