NOBLE Park man Samir Jujic says that he is thankful to live in Australia.
Unlike people from his homeland, he receives regular pay, he has a roof over his head and can afford to pay his monthly bills.
This week he will send a shipping container filled with money, clothing, shoes and toys to Bosnia for those who are much less fortunate.
Along with his employer Bihsat TV, Mr Jujic organised the large humanitarian aid drive by gathering all Bosnians in the local community and asking for their assistance.
“People helped out where they could, by giving clothes and toys they didn’t need and wanted to give away,” Mr Jujic said.
“We here in Australia thankfully have all the means to give. Plus Australia is a country that helps us out in many ways and is very giving.”
He said that many Bosnians did not receive a regular pay and could often not afford to pay their bills.
“While it might be easier for some Australians than others, we can handle it,” he said.
“But people in Bosnia need a helping hand.”
Mr Jujic said he had received overwhelming support from the Bosnian community.
“I am the type of person who would like to see everyone happy,” he said.
“I’d like to do anything in my power to help out the people who need it the most.
“It brings a smile to my face knowing I have made a difference in someone’s life.”
