DANDENONG residents gathered at the Pillars of Freedom in Dandenong to honour fallen service people yesterday.
More than 100 people chose the venue for the Remembrance Day service and the minute’s silence held at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
The service was conducted by member of the Dandenong RSL and Vietnam veteran John Wells.
Dandenong High School students Karen Jong and Johnson Ly read The Ode to the crowd.
People including the Armed Forces Cadets, members of the RSL, Greater Dandenong mayor Pinar Yesil, and councillors and local, state and federal MPs took part in the service and laying of the wreaths and poppies.
