A 51-YEAR-OLD Dandenong man was hit by a car inside the store at a Dandenong petrol station this week
Advanced life support paramedics were called to a petrol station on Stud Road just before 11am on 8 February.
Paramedic Beck Raftery said the man had gone inside to pay for petrol when the accident took place.
“The 51-year-old told us he saw the car coming towards him and managed to jump out of the way at the last minute before the car ploughed into the shop,” Mr Raftery said.
“The man was hit on the leg, but thankfully wasn’t knocked to the ground.”
Mr Raftery said the man received significant bruising on his right leg, so paramedics gave him pain relief medication through an inhaler.
“He’s extremely lucky that he had his wits about him, and avoided any more serious injury,” he said.
The man was taken to the Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition.
