THE Noble Park Keysborough Lions Club lent a helping hand to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA).
In partnership with the Noble Park Rotary Club, they cooked up some tasty treats at the annual Lions Biggest Barbecue at the Vintage Motorcycle Swap Meet in Scoresby.
They were joined by many members from over 1400 Lions Australia Clubs across the country, Ray Collins from the Noble Park Keysborough Lions Club said.
The Noble Park Keysborough Lions Club donated $1000 from the barbecue to the CCIA for medical research into the causes, prevention and cure of childhood cancer.
All proceeds raised by clubs nationwide from the Lions Biggest Barbecue will be donated to CCIA for medical research.
Since 1996, Lions Australia has donated over $3.7 million to CCIA to help fight childhood cancer.
“We are grateful to members who helped and every supporter who attended the barbecue,” Mr Collins said.
He said that about 150 Australian children a year did not survive childhood cancer.
“Lions members encourage the community to give generously to support medical research to find a cure for childhood cancer,” Mr Collins said.
