REBEL Sport Dandenong presented soccer training equipment to young Sudanese soccer players last Friday, to encourage them within their new teams.
The young men accepted the equipment on behalf of two Sudanese soccer teams known as the Nile Stars and the Superstars.
The local teams were formed after several local Sudanese youths wanted to further their passion for soccer. They compete within the Dandenong area and hold weekly training sessions.
Team members John Jal, Nhial Mabur, Math Thwat, Chuol Peuch and Jima Ruach were at the Rebel Sport store last Friday to accept the equipment which included training balls, cones and training bibs.
Rebel Sport Dandenong staff said it was a unique opportunity to encourage youth in the area to participate in positive activities and that they were very keen to support such programs.
Soccer-player John Hal thanked Rebel Sport on behalf of the two teams.
“This is the first time we have received such support. We are most grateful to Rebel Sport Dandenong for their generosity,” Mr Hal said.
