THE Keysborough McDonald’s restaurant put on a fantastic show for Saturday’s McHappy Day.
A jumping castle, face painting and clowns were all on hand to help raise money for seriously ill children.
Money raised during the day went to the Ronald McDonald House at Monash Medical Centre, along with other donated items, including a birdcage and fish tank from Springvale South’s Australia Pet Superstore.
The Keysborough McDonald’s manager and coordinator of the event, Nikki Peut, said the support from the community and local businesses had been great.
“It was a fantastic day,” Ms Peut said.
“It’s good that (the money) is going to a local place.”
Ronald McDonald House is a place for seriously ill children and their families to go while recovering or receiving treatment.
Ms Peut said $1.3 million was raised on Saturday Australia-wide.
One dollar from every Big Mac burger sold on the day went straight to the charity.
Keysborough CFA supplied a fire truck for kids to play in and CFA members served customers in the store’s drive-through, and Hampton Park’s A1 Krazy Castles leant a jumping castle free of charge.
Teachers from Keysborough’s Maralinga Primary School and Noble Park’s Wallarano Primary School donated their time and the Wallarano choir and dance group performed.
A very McHappy day
